“988 has been designated as the three-digit dialing code that will route callers to the National Suicide Prevention & Mental Health Crisis Lifeline and increase the accessibility of the Lifeline for individuals beginning July 16, 2022. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline provides confidential emotional support to people in suicidal crisis or emotional distress 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, across the United States.”

Trans Lifeline’s Hotline is a peer support phone service run by trans people for trans and questioning peers. Even if are not in crisis or aren’t sure you are trans, they are open to talking to you. When you call, you’ll speak to a trans/nonbinary peer operator. Furthermore, you call is fully anonymous and confidential.

In Addition, the Family & Friends Line provides peer support for friends, partners, family members and professionals supporting trans loved ones and community members. To access this service, first call our main hotline and ask for our Family and Friends Line. Then an operator will find out the best time to call you back. Lastly, you will receive a call back from a Family & Friends operator who has lived experience supporting trans people.

  • In addition, Friendship Line also offers outreach to eligible callers. Regular calls are made to help monitor a person’s physical and mental health concerns. Any aging adult or person living with disabilities, who suffers from depression, loneliness, isolation, anxiousness, or may be thinking about death or suicide, can benefit. Calls are confidential and from trained volunteers.
